Sala Alcalá 31 presents the exhibition "Gran Sur: Chilean contemporary art in the Engel Collection", an important selection of one of the largest private collections in Latin America, the Claudio Engel collection.
Curated by Christian Viveros-Fauné, “Gran Sur”, presentation for the first time in Spain, such an important exhibition of works by Chilean artists from the late twentieth and early twenty-first. The exhibition not only represents the most comprehensive introduction to Chilean art that has occurred in recent decades, but also articulates a different vision of the extraordinary creativity exhibited by several generations of Chilean artists both inside and outside the country.

On May 30, at 7PM Catalina González will give an artist-talk at the IZONE Creative Community, vul. Naberezhno-Luhova 8. At the talk, Catalina will provide more information about his new project, Oscillators, grooves and zigzags, that explores spatial relationships of the woman and her environment that make up a memory and that will be then transformed into an ambiguous dialogue between reality, poetry and the artist’s actions in the place.

El Centro de Extensión (Centex) del Ministerio de las Culturas, las Artes y el Patrimonio, inaugurará su tercer ciclo programático 2018 con la muestra Paisajes Funcionales. Arte y Ruralidad. La exposición reúne la obra de artistas visuales que reflexionan sobre una ruralidad modificada por nuestro estilo de vida actual, asolada por el sistema de mercado, la industrialización y la explotación minera desmedida. Así mismo, emergen en esta nueva realidad rural, los bosques, los parques y las reservas de flora y fauna en extinción. Explotación y conservación, grandes ejes de esta exhibición que estará abierta al público hasta el 27 de enero del 2019.

Nos reunimos en una comuna en la frontera con Bolivia, un grupo constituido por artistas de proveniencias disímiles, Perú, Venezuela, Colombia y Chile. Surgieron preguntas acerca de cómo ejercemos nuestra práctica y desde dónde, entendiendo el proceso de trabajo como un articulador reflexivo de las diferentes experiencias con el lugar. Ollagüe tiene visibles complejidades geopolíticas por su condición de frontera, la que es acrecentada por la presencia del Ferrocarril de Antofagasta a Bolivia (FCAB) que atraviesa el lugar constituyéndose en parte del habitus del pueblo

BORRA LAS HUELLAS se propone como puerta de entrada para desarrollar una curaduría sobre obras instalativas que buscan subvertir la tradición exponiendo lo imprevisible, la desviación, lo inútil, la degeneración, la obsolescencia y la aleatoriedad entre lo encontrado y transformado por artistas caminantes. Aquí ciertas fronteras instauradas se revierten, se borran y/o tensionan lo global y local, lo industrial y lo artesanal, lo orgánico y lo inorgánico, el adentro y el afuera, la forma y el contenido, el arte y la técnica. Así lugares, objetos encontrados y experiencias se convierten en materialidad por reelaborar; haciendo sitio por un instante para luego despejar.
En esta muestra, artistas caminantes ofrecen un instante de sus diferentes viajes enfatizando este devenir como obra. De acuerdo con sus backgrounds particulares, cada lugar es una apuesta por un diálogo que permite diferentes intensidades, es así como aparecen obras desde espacios tan disimiles como pueblos, ciudades en desarrollo, megalópolis, islas, desiertos, entornos rurales, o lugares inhóspitos. No obstante, tienden en su generalidad a percibir los nichos de estos, la precariedad paisajística objetual o inestabilidades geopolíticas que desaparecen o se transforman.

Exposición indivudual en Unión Comunal de Alto Hospicio, como cierre del proyecto CONTINUUM, financiado por FONDART Nacional del Consejo Nacional de la Cultua y las Artes. El proyecto busca rescatar la memoria a través del dibujo de los primero asentamientos de la comuna y los relatos que envuelven la memoria de mujeres que construyeron la ciudad desde cero.
